My Story
Helping people has always excited me. I’ve known I wanted to be a Physical Therapist since I was 14 years old. My passion for this work was ignited when I attended a career fair in middle school. As I listened to the PT talk about her work and how she spent her days helping people recover from injuries, it all clicked for me.
In high school, I was an athlete in several different sports and the idea of how the body worked was fascinating to me.
When I’m not working with patients, you can find me playing tennis, doing yoga, paddle boarding, and running around with my 2 adorable daughters, Addie and Julia
Education
After high school, I attended Quinnipiac University and graduated with my Bachelors in Health Science and my Masters in PT. I went back to school to get my doctoral degree 5 years later while working full time. After working in the field for 15 years, I decided to start my own practice.
My mission is to help YOU get back to Moving Forward towards the activities that bring you joy!
What makes me different from other PT’s?
I’ve realized where the real magic lies for me…
Empowering people.
Cheering them on.
Supporting them in doing things they don’t think they can do.
They come to me in pain, often isolated from the things they love, I get to help them find their way back to their own power, so they can get and STAY active, fit and healthy.
I have never stopped learning and supporting the dream that was planted way back at that Career Fair. I have developed specialties in vestibular therapy (vertigo/dizziness), dry needling, and I LOVE geeking out to functional movement screens, which are systematic ways of treating the whole person, creating symmetry and improving the way people move, recover and perform.
Most recently, I have completed a course through Racquetfit on the Body-Serve Connection. Supporting people not only improve their game, but also play with less risk of injury is a dream come true!
I genuinely care and want you to get back to doing the things you enjoy. I’m a great listener and believe that you are so much more than the injury, pain or complaint that has you needing a Physical Therapist right now. One of my superpowers is being able to treat your problem from a holistic approach, considering your whole body, and other variables that are getting in the way.
I want you to feel HOPE.
I believe in a kind and caring approach, but at the same time, I’m here to hold you accountable and keep you motivated to reach your treatment goals. We work together through building a collaborative relationship that allows you to feel safe and really dive into the work… not only during our sessions, but at home between sessions. These practices build habits that keep you bending and flexing long after our work together ends. My goal is for you to be independent and self-reliant as you find, build, and cultivate your athlete within.
Also: Secret passion… helping high school athletes not get hurt and perform better!
I was injured in field hockey and sat on the sidelines. I went to PT where they treated my shin and ankle. I did the time and when it was time to return to sport, I got injured again right away. This was so frustrating. My core and movement patterns weren’t even addressed.
That’s why I’m passionate about helping high school athletes! I’m going to look at the big picture and help you get through this. We will make a plan together and use a team approach to get you back to doing what you love!
